** When submitting a PDF, ensure that your do not have Password Protection or Signature Certification enabled or your application will be       rejected. Attachments must not exceed 500 MB for the combined total of all attachments

*** Payment of application fees via credit card only

**** You will be timed out after 20 minutes of non-activity



We are presently dealing with high volumes of building permits and applications and staff shortages. This may result in delays in the validation of your building permit to invoice the fees applicable. Please note that we may consider waiving the applicable local government application fee if there is extended delay in validating the application or refunding the fee if we do not meet our statutory time frame to assess and issue the permit after validation. Please note that verge bonds where applicable and state government levies are not able to be waived.

If your application requires a FORM 1 or is a Development Assessment Panel application then you will not be able to lodge online.

Building Applications

Please Note: The city does not accept building permit applications via email unless prior permission has been provided by Administration.
If you are having issues with the lodgement or attaching process, please contact the City on 1300 635 845.
Your application is not considered to be lodged until such time as the City has deemed the application completed for lodgement and the fees have been paid.

You have a choice of Certified or Uncertified Applications. Please refer to the Building Commission for a further explanation.

Application to Request Building PlansThe City of Melville will provide copies of approved building plans on request where possible.

IMPORTANT: If plans are unavailable or unclear, the cost of the request for building plans will not be refunded
